BLESS THE FEET
Covid-19 has led to uncertainty in almost every area of our lives. Not only are we being asked to self-quarantine, but for some that means no work, which means no financial provision. It’s easy to get caught up in worry and anxiety wondering how we are going to provide for our families. In Kyle’s story, Prompted by Holy Spirit Kyle hears God say “bless the feet” and suggests that we can listen to God and be led by His Spirit.
Matthew 6:25-26 “For this reason I say to you, do not be worries about your life, as to what you will eat or what your will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not worth much more than they?”
Read or listen to Kyle’s story then consider the following questions:
What does “depending on the Spirit” look like for you?
How can we tune into the Spirit and tune out everything else?
God provided for Kyle’s ministry through a word spoken to his spirit and through financial gifts from the body of Christ. Is this kind of provision biblical?
Where do we see it in scripture?
Did God provide abundantly or just enough?
How has God provided for you?
Scripture to consider: Matthew 17:27, 2Kings 4:1-7, John 21:6, Psalm 143:10, Mark 1:12, John 10:27-28
Questions to get the family talking.
Was Kyle lying to his team when he said he would “bring the check”?
How did God meet Kyle’s needs?
Does God still speak to us? If so, how?
Can you think of a bible story where God shows up big like this?
If God provided for Kyle, do you think He will provide for you/us?
Activity: Nature Watch – Grab some binoculars. Look at how the birds and squirrels are gathering food. How has God provided for them?
